Erie City Council Wednesday approved a resolution asking state legislators to rescind the 2017 law that allows for the sale of consumer fireworks.
The resolution was sponsored by Councilwoman Katlhy Schaaf.
Schaaf said citizens across the commonwealth are concerned about such fireworks sales and the impact they are having on residential neighborhoods.
Also this week, State Senator Dan Laughlin voted in favor of the amendment to Senate Bill 932 that would allow some cities and townships in Pennsylvania, including Erie, to ban the use of consumer-grade fireworks.
