Erie County Council Tuesday approved a tentative plan for the distribution of $24 million from a federal cares funding grant.
Under the plan, $5 million will be set aside for small businesses, and another $6.5 million will go to nonprofits.
Council members allocated 2.5 million dollars for Erie Events.
The plan also sets aside money for increased wifi access and PPE for high-touch businesses like dentists offices and childcare centers.
