Today is the 11th of September, a day that will always hold special significance for every American. but observances of the day will be different this year.
The annual gathering At Blasco Library will not be held this year. Mark Aleksandrowicz, Chairman of the Erie 9/11 Memorial, led organizers to cancel the event for 2020.
West Ridge and other Millcreek Fire Departments will continue with their memorials.
Those taking part in Millcreek’s Memorial at 12th and Peninsula Drive will be asked to socially distance from one another.
Millcreek’s Memorial Service is expected to begin at 6:00 p.m. After the service, emergency lights will be turned on to commemorate those lost on 9/11.
