A Girard man is facing charges after a gun was discovered in his carry-on bag at Erie International Airport on Thursday morning.
TSA officers found the unloaded.380-caliber handgun in the man’s bag at a security checkpoint
Airport police confiscated the gun and charged the man.
It is illegal to carry a firearm aboard a plane.
TSA rules specify that firearms can be contained in checked baggage if packed correcly and declared at the airline ticket counter.
Firearms must be unloaded and packed separately from ammunition in a locked, hard-sided case.
