A man drove his vehicle over an Erie police cruiser during a pursuit Wednesday.
Around 3:30 a.m., officers saw someone driving the wrong way on Parade Street in Erie, actually headed towards oncoming traffic. When police initiated a traffic stop, the driver took off.
A chase ensued, and officers eventually stopped the vehicle in the 54 hundred block of Old French Road. but the suspect refused to get out of the car and took off again, nearly hitting two officers. he then drove over the hood of the police cruiser and hit a guard rail.
Officers eventually stopped and arrested him along west 38th street.
The driver has been identified as 26 year old David Schubert. he’s facing several charges including aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI.
