Warrants Issued after Riot

Erie Police have issued five arrest warrants in connection with last Saturday's riot in downtown Erie.

The warrants include one for 26 year old Yesinia Vicenty, who was seen breaking a window at Ember + Forge next to Melquan Barnett, who faces multiple charges including arson. Vicenty is charged with riot and criminal mischief.

Police chief Dan Spizarny is encouraging those facing warrants to turn themselves in.

Spizarny also said the Erie police officer caught kicking a woman on video was immediately taken off the streets and is now on desk duty. The incident is now under investigation by Internal Affairs, which is reviewing statements and video from the crowd and businesses in the area.
