Governor Tom Wolf said ending the COVID-19 disaster emergency is not part of his plan to continue protecting Pennsylvanians and navigating the state’s recovery from the pandemic.
Wolf spoke Wednesday after the Legislature passed a resolution terminating the state of emergency. He said lawmakers can’t end the declaration unilaterally.
The governor also said ending the declaration would not affect orders issued by the secretary of health that set guidelines for business operations but instead could put a stop to protections for businesses, workers and residents.
