An eastside home was heavily damaged by fire last night.
Just before 8:30, Erie firefighters were called to 838 East 24th, after smoke was spotted coming from the home’s attic,
The back of the house suffered heavy damage in the blaze.
The residents were not home at the time of the fire. They are being assisted by the red cross.
The city fire inspector will be looking for a cause.
There were no injuries reported.
