A peaceful protest was held at Frontier Park Tuesday evening, with participants saying the Erie police officer suspended for kicking a young woman should be facing more serious consequences.
Members of Erie Equal have been gathering outisde of city hall, but last night they protested near Mayor Schember’s home.
Janessa Williams, the co-founder of Erie Equal, says the organization is asking for justice for any minority that has been affected by police brutality, and systematic racism. the group says it wants to see serious policy changes in Erie county.
Protesters carried posters and chanted “No Justice, No Peace” and “I Can’t Breathe” as they marched.
