A rally to support police has been postponed.
County councilman Brian Shank initially organized the “Back the Blue” rally for this weekend. Around 200 people were expected to attend.
But Mayor Schember contacted Shank and asked that the rally be postponed, citing concerns over counterprotests and Covid-19 spread.
The two sides agreed to reschedule the rally to a time when the event can be more easily accommodated. Shank says he agreed to reschedule the event when potential attendance grew to much higher numbers than anticipated.
