Two men from Warren County had to be rescued when their fishing boat capsized in Lake Erie in North East Tuesday.
It happened around 11 am off Freeport Beach. North East Fire Department crews got the men off the hull of their boat, a 17-foot Boston Whaler and took them to the North East Marina for evaluation.
The men told rescuers they think the bilge pump in their boat malfunctioned.
The U.S. Coast Guard in Erie and a work crew aboard a nearby pipeline barge also aided in the rescue.
