Erie School Board Approves Plan to Start School Year Online

The Erie School Board has approved a plan that will see the school year beginning with online classes.

By an 8-1 vote, board members approved the revised re-opening plan. Classes will resume in just under a month, but for more than 11,000 students,Those classes will be virtual.

The decision follows a new plan from the superintendent that will allow for new ventilation systems to be installed in several Erie school district buildings.

Students will learn online until November 8th, which marks the end of the first quarter of the school year.

Also Wednesday, the board voted on a school dress code, agreeing that students must be dressed appropriately whether classes are in-person or online.
