Company Announces Plans to Build $100 Million Recycling Center in Erie

A company has announced plans to build a 100 million dollar recycling plant in Erie.

In a news release, international Recycling Group says the plant has the potential to bring more than 150 new family-sustaining jobs to the area.

So far, Erie Insurance and the Plastek Group the project have raised 9 million dollars towards the project’s 100 million dollar price tag.

The company says Erie was chosen in part because of the ability to use great lakes transportation as well as the rail and the interstate system, and the highway system.

IRG is hoping to begin operations sometime in September.
