Erie Man Indicted On Child Pornography Charges Prison to be Detained

A federal judge has ordered that an Erie man, indicted by a federal grand jury on child pornography charges, be detained in prison pending trial.

Police say 31 year old Gregory Mancini received and possessed computer images depicting prepubescent minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Mancini also allegedly traveled to Georgia with the intent to have sex with a minor.

Tuesday, Mancini pleaded not guilty to three counts of violating federal laws relating to the sexual exploitation of children.

Mancini was formerly a junior varsity basketball coach at Cathedral Prep and worked at the Barber National Institute.
