Erie police are investigating a sunday evening shooting incident that left two men wounded.
Police say gunfire was first reported around 7 pm Sunday in the 1800 block of Poplar Street. officers say 20 shell casings were recovered from the scene.
Officers intercepted a car was headed to Saint Vincent Hospital after the incident. the driver of had been shot in the shin and his passenger shot in the lower back.
The driver was treated at Saint Vincent, while the man shot in the back was transferred to UPMC Hamot in serious condition. and expected to undergo surgery.
