Mayor Joe Schember announced Thursday that A $250,000 grant provided to the Housing Authority will be used to update homes in the city of Erie.
Housing Authority Executive Director Michael Fraley says the money will be used to replace windows and upgrade furnaces and air conditioning units around 16th and Holland and 17th and German streets.
Also Thursday, a contract extension was announced for the Erie police department’s Quebec unit. the six-officer unit, dedicated to keeping residents of housing authority properties safe, will continue for at least another two years.
