Serious money is coming from Washington for Erie’s Bayfront Parkway project.
The U.S. Department of Transportation, along with state lawmakers, have announced that the project will receive $21 million in federal BUILD grant funds.
The funds will be directed toward a project connecting Erie’s central business district to its waterfront including reconstructing three major intersections along the parkway.
The money will also remove existing railroad tracks including two at-grade crossing, closing gaps in a multi-use trail network, and constructing a multimodal bridge.
