Highly Regarded Erie Artist and Art Educator has Died

One of Erie’s most highly regarded artists and art educators has died.

Vitus j. Kaiser died Wednesday at his west Erie home. He was 91.

Kaiser was a watercolor artist and commercial art teacher.

He worked at Erie Forge and Steel for more than a decade as director of its printing department. He later began teaching commercial art at Tech Memorial High School in 1970.

Kaiser’s work often focused on landscapes.
