The Erie School Board is scheduled to vote today on awarding bids for ventilation repairs and upgrades to the district’s 16 school buildings.
One contract to be awarded today is for the work on the ventilation systems themselves. The other is an electrical contract related to the ventilation upgrades.
Upgrades will include installing ultraviolet lights in existing and new air-handling units and equipping them with what is known as bipolar ionization technology.
The total cost of the work is estimated at $1.5 million dollars.
