A World War 2 submarine will be spending time in Erie for drydock maintenence.
USS COD SS-224 will be arriving at Donjon Shipbuilding and Repair in a few weeks.
Work will be done to restore the 78-year-old sub’s underwater hull.
Once the project is completed, the USS COD will return to the berth she has occupied since her arrival in Cleveland in 1959.
The submarine has been awarded national historic landmark status.
