Arrest Made in Shooting Outside Partner's Tavern

An arrest has been made in connection with Tuesday morning’s fatal shooting outside Partner’s Tavern.

It happened around 1:45 am Tuesday. Police say 29-year-old Corey Ray Kendig of Erie was leaving the east lake road establishment when multiple men approached him and began to assault him.

a fight ensued; that’s when Kendig allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot 33-year-old Jeremy A. Jones of McKean in the stomach. Jones died at the scene.

Charges against Kendig include criminal homicide, reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.

Kendig is being held in the Erie County Prison without bond.
