The Community Blood Bank of Erie County IS offering covid-19 antibody testing.
Blood Bank officials say CCP is a plasma donation that also contains the SARS-CoV-2 antibodies within the plasma. Transfusing these antibodies through plasma is one of the approved treatments for patients hospitalized with COVID-19.
An antibody test can determine if you have ever had prior exposure to SARS-CoV-2, the virus known to cause COVID-19.
The tests will be available to all donors through November 30th.
