There will be trick-or-treating in the city of Erie this year.
Mayor Joe Schember announced Thursday that trick-or-treating will be held in the city Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The mayor says he came to the decision after consulting with his staff and officials from the Erie County Department of Health.
Those participating are asked to follow precautions including wearing a face mask and staying at least six feet away from others while trick-or-treating, and setting candy on a table or chair instead of handing treats directly to children.
