Classes at Cathedral Prep and Villa Maria Academy are moving to full remote learning today until further notice.
In a letter to Prep and Villa Parents, President Chris Hagerty said the decision was made because the Erie County Health Department has turned over contact tracing to the PA Department of Health. that leaves Prep and Villa on their own to do the tracing, and the schools don’t have the time or resources to do so.
The letter says Prep and Villa are “immediately pivoting to full remote on a temporary basis and no students will be permitted to attend classes on their respective campus."
School officials recently learned that an employee who has had interaction with people on both the Prep and Villa campuses had tested positive for COVID-19.
