Yesterday’s wild winds and pounding rainstorms caused problems all over the area, leading to power outages, downed trees, and flooding.
Waves sent water washing over Dobbins Landing and nearby roadways, with water surging over the dock.
Some residents were moved out of their homes on lakefront drive on Kelso Beach, as water from the shoreline approached the doors of houses and flooded out ground floors. Fire department crews from West Lake and Lake Shore used water rescue gear to help about 15 residents and five dogs to safety.
and in Wattsburg, high winds actually ripped the metal roof off the fire hall building. the roof was just installed last summer.
