Former Teacher Convicted of Murder Dies In Prison

Raymond Payne, The former Strong Vincent teacher convicted of killing Debbie Gamma in 1975, had died in prison.

According to the Erie Times News, the 83 year old Payne died of complications from Covid-19.

He had been serving a life sentence for the murder of Gamma, who was one of his students.

Payne was given a new degree of guilt hearing earlier this year and once again found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to life.
