The FDA said the products could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism that can cause severe and sometimes fatal infections. The Maryland-based company halted production of the products after listeria was found during routine FDA sampling.

There have been reports of illness related to the recalled ice cream products. Symptoms of an infection include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

Consumers are urged to stop eating any of the recalled products. Anybody who bought the recalled products can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
