Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is listed as the favorite for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, according to the latest Granite State Poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire released on Monday (October 27).
Buttigieg is reported to lead all candidates with 19% of support, followed by California Gov. Gavin Newsom at 15%, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at 14%, former Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris at 11% and Sen. Bernie Sanders at 8%. Buttigieg was previously listed as the favorite in Emerson College Polling's survey conducted in June and AtlasIntel's poll in May, however, most other polls have listed either Harris or Newsom as the overwhelming favorites. The California governor taking the lead in the updated versions of the Emerson College and AtlasIntel polls previously led by Buttigieg, while the former vice president was listed as the favorite in the latest Echelon Insights poll released last week.
