Charlie Woods, the son of 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, announced his verbal commitment to play golf at Florida State in 2027 in the first post shared on his Instagram account.

"Excited to announce my commitment to play golf at Florida State University — go Noles!" he wrote.

Tiger Woods commented, "Congratulations Charlie. I'm so proud of you on entering this next chapter of your life" on his son's post.

The younger Woods opted to stay in-state, rather than commit to Stanford, where his father competed as an amateur for two seasons before going pro and his sister, Sam, is a freshman student.

"It's been very different, the recruiting process," Tiger Woods said at the Hero World Challenge in December via ESPN. "Now, you have cell phones. We didn't have cell phones. We would have written letters that would show up in the mailbox. It's just very different how fast coaches can communicate with the family members and the player that they're trying to recruit.

"It's just a different world. Not saying it's good or bad, it's just different."

The Seminoles, who were the runner-up at the 2024 NCAAs, also have a commitment from Miles Russell, the No. 1 ranked player in the Rolex AJGA rankings, while head coach Trey Jones, who is entering his 23rd season in 2026, had previously coached five-time major champion Brooks Koepka and PGA Tour member Daniel Berger.
