Let The Confirmation Hearings Begin

Confirmation hearings begin today for President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet. With only six days until Inauguration Day, lawmakers are hopeful some nominations will be confirmed before then. Trump's pick for Secretary of Defense, former FOX News host Pete Hegseth, is kicking off the week of hearings and is expected to receive pushback from Senate Democrats. Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) joins the Rundown to share his optimism about confirming the President-elect’s cabinet nominees and the GOP's policy agenda. President Biden addressed the nation on Tuesday, touting his foreign policy achievements, from ending the United States' involvement in Afghanistan to strengthening alliances in the South Pacific.
