New York City is expanding its vaccine requirements as we head into the winter months.
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the new rules on Monday, calling it a "preemptive strike" against another winter COVID-19 surge.
Starting Dec. 14th, all children ages 5-11 will have to show proof of vaccination at restaurants, gyms, theaters, and other facilities.
De Blasio also announced the city's vaccine mandate would expand to private-sector employers "across the board", starting Dec. 27th.
